The challenge of nutrition during treatment

When someone prepares for their breast cancer treatment, they often read about treatment side effects like hair loss or skin burns.

Just as concerning is how treatment impacts a person’s relationship with food. It’s a struggle that friends and family often see from the outside, but knowing the challenges to proper nutrition during treatment can help us better support the cancer patients in our lives.

While the body is working harder than it ever has to heal, it needs the proper fuel to simply get through the day. However, sometimes during treatment a person isn’t hungry at all, or their favorite foods now taste like metal, or the smell of cooking vegetables makes them nauseous.

Getting good nutrition while undergoing treatment can be its own challenge, but our latest eBook Nutrition Care for Breast Cancer Patients aims to guide people through the challenges of nourishing a body during this difficult time.

The eBook will teach you how a diet for breast cancer treatment may differ from a typical diet. With easy-to-understand sections, you’ll learn about nutrition basics (with tips for patients and survivors), food safety, and managing treatment side effects with nutrition.
