The welcoming of the New Year has so many different meanings to so many different people. For some, the New Year’s Eve parties and celebrations are the focal point. For others, reflecting on the past year, especially with regard to major events that have perhaps changed their lives is most important. Then there are those who see the whole thing as just another chance to view how they have managed to fail in not reaching the goals that they previously set at the beginning of the year. But, probably by and large, the biggest group is made up
I would like to know what New Year’s resolutions you have made. I would like to know what has inspired you to set the goals that you have set. I would like to know what it takes for you to make a commitment to a goal or a dream that would allow you to press forward with confidence that you will reach that dream.of those who are going to set some new resolutions or goals for the coming year and this group is the one that most intrigues me.
I have set some pretty major goals for myself this year. This is something that I have never done in the past. My rule has always been to just live one day at a time, keep your eyes and ears opened to new opportunities that you may like to pursue but know that everything happens in its own good time and exactly the right moment. Since I am breaking away from my own tradition this year, it gave rise to my thinking about all the other people who set goals on New Year’s Eve. What do other people want for the coming year? What personal goals have they set for themselves? What hopes and dreams do they wish to realize in 2013?
I would like to know what New Year’s resolutions you have made. I would like to know what has inspired you to set the goals that you have set. I would like to know what it takes for you to make a commitment to a goal or a dream that would allow you to press forward with confidence that you will reach that dream. I would like to know whether this is a brand new resolution that you are making or whether you are continuing to pursue a goal that you have worked on in the past. I would like to know what is motivating you to pursue this particular resolution.
To that end, I would really appreciate it if you would share your resolutions with me on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google +, email or add them to the comment section at the end of this blog. I am sure that I am not alone in wanting to know what to do in order to keep a resolution because it sure doesn’t sound like an easy thing to do. I would like to know if you have failed in keeping a resolution in the past, what was the cause for your not meeting that goal. I know that if you take the time and make the effort to set a resolution, you would have a really good reason not to continue your pursuit of that goal and this is information that I really would like to have so that I may be better able to stick to my goals.
I know that I am not alone in wanting to know this information. I believe that if we share how we succeeded with a pursuit in the past or if we share the how and why we may have failed, others can learn from such information. I know that I want to meet my goals for this year and can certainly increase my chances of doing so if I have as much information as possible to help me succeed. Please consider sharing with me and the others who might choose to learn from your experiences. I know that I have every expectation of reaching my goals and that I will need all of the help that I can get in order to do so.
Wishing each and everyone of you the best year ever in 2013. Happy New Year!
