SafeLink Health Solutions program offered at no cost to health plans and members
MIAMI – June 25, 2013 – TracFone Wireless, Inc., America’s largest no contract wireless provider, and Voxiva, Inc.SM, the leader in mobile health services, are joining forces to launch SafeLink Health SolutionsSM. The new program helps Medicaid health plans engage and support members in taking an active role in their health, increase member satisfaction and re-enrollment rates, and improve key quality measures (e.g. HEDIS, EPSDT).
SafeLink Health Solutions services are being rolled out to Medicaid health plans in more than 20 states. Provided under the federal Lifeline program at no cost to health plans, qualifying plan members receive a free SafeLink cell phone and free monthly service with 250 minutes and unlimited calls to designated member services phone lines. In addition, members receive free enrollment in Voxiva’s proven, evidence-based mobile health programs along with unlimited text messaging.
Based on national preventative health guidelines, Voxiva’s programs deliver personalized, interactive health information via text messaging. The programs include reminders for recommended exams, screenings, and vaccinations, as well as developmental milestones. Health plans can also inform members about services and benefits and send administrative alerts (e.g. re-enrollment reminders) via text message. Independent evaluations of the services have demonstrated improved outcomes on several HEDIS and EPSDT quality measures such as immunization compliance and appointment attendance.
“Voxiva has been a pioneer in delivering large scale mobile services that improve health, including the nation’s largest mobile health program. Our partnership with TracFone means that these proven services can reach many more people at no cost to them and no cost to their health plans,” said Paul Meyer, Voxiva’s chairman & president.
SafeLink Health Solutions offers a better way to interact with patients and enhance care. “TracFone is proud to join Voxiva in providing the SafeLink Health Solutions program to enhance the lives of countless Medicaid recipients across the United States. By partnering with Voxiva we will leverage our company’s knowledge, innovation and commitment to quality service to provide this unique solution,” said F. J. Pollak, president and chief executive officer of TracFone Wireless.
