Songfinch, a personalized gifting company specializing in music, partners with Susan G. Komen® to produce an original soundtrack of eight songs to uplift people living with breast cancer and supporters everywhere. The playlist was inspired by the stories of strength and determination of people with breast cancer and created to honor those facing the disease while raising funds for lifesaving research.
Susan G. Komen’s More Than Pink® movement inspired Songfinch to work with its community of 250+ songwriters in creating an album of eight original songs, providing anthems for those currently facing breast cancer all over the world. The album consists of inspiring tunes to offer motivation – whether to a patient who could use an extra lift during treatment or for someone who has just been diagnosed and needs a reminder that they are not alone in their fight – to let them know that support exists in all types of forms around them, including song. Available for purchase on limited edition vinyl and digital download via Bandcamp.com, a portion of the proceeds from the More Than Pink® effort will benefit Susan G. Komen to help fund research and programs supporting people with breast cancer.
Komen has set a Bold Goal to reduce the current number of U.S. breast cancer deaths by 50 percent by 2026.
“For those facing breast cancer, sometimes just getting through the day can be a struggle – we’re so honored to partner with Songfinch to do what we can in providing songs that motivate, inspire and let people know they are not alone,” said Komen Senior Vice President of Development Christina Alford. “Music is a powerful tool and a much-needed reminder that we’re in this battle together.”
The More Than Pink® album features professional songwriters Jef Joslin, John Kennedy, Drew Tabor and others, who wrote and produced original songs to inspire those affected by breast cancer. From July 25, 2017, to June 30, 2018, 50 percent of each pink vinyl record and individual digital song purchase will benefit Susan G. Komen. “Helping a few family members battle cancer, I’ve seen first-hand how important positivity and support are to the fight of the disease. My mom used the personalized song I created for her during treatments to stay positive, so I’m excited to show others the same support with the More Than Pink® album,” says Co-Founder Rob Lindquist of Songfinch.
Songfinch is a personalized gifting company specializing in crafting one-of-a-kind songs from scratch based on the customer’s own special story. Each song is completely original and created by a songwriter of its community of professional musicians who deliver the song within seven days.
