Qualtrics Donates $1 Million to Cancer Research at Huntsman Cancer Institute as Part of Its New Global Campaign Five for the Fight

Qualtrics, the world¹s leading enterprise survey platform, today announced a new partnership with the Huntsman Cancer Foundation to raise funds for cancer research. This partnership is part of a new campaign titled Five for the Fight, which kicked off today at the annual Qualtrics Insight Summit. Five for the Fight invites everyone, everywhere to give $5 to the fight against cancer and to challenge five others to do the same by visiting fiveforthefight.com and using the hashtag #fiveforthefight in social posts.

The 2016 Qualtrics Insight Summit is being held at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City, February 17, 2016. Peter Huntsman, CEO of Huntsman Cancer Foundation attended the conference today where Ryan Smith, founder and CEO of Qualtrics, presented him with a $1 million check as they launched the Five for the Fight campaign to raise money for cancer research. Huntsman and Smith were joined on stage by Mario Cappecchi, Ph.D., Nobel laureate, distinguished professor and co-chair of human genetics at the University of Utah School of Medicine and Huntsman Cancer Institute investigator (HCI), and Joshua Schiffman, M.D., professor of pediatric hematology/oncology and medical director of the High Risk Pediatric Cancer Clinic at HCI at the University of Utah.

³Cancer has impacted almost everyone in one way or another. When my father got cancer, the Huntsman Cancer Institute saved his life. We determined early on way before we had any money that if we were ever successful, Huntsman Cancer Institute would be the group we would support,² said Smith. ³Making this donation today is just the beginning. We are here to enlist people around the world to raise a hand and give what they can for this important cause.²

Five for the Fight is a global campaign inviting everyone to donate $5 to cancer research and challenge five others to do the same. Participants write on their hand the name of someone who has fought or is fighting cancer and post a photo or video to social media, tagging #fiveforthefight, and explain why they are joining the campaign and donating to cancer research. This campaign is designed to crowd fund an aggressive push in cancer research.

³As a cancer survivor myself, I have devoted much of my life to raising awareness and funds for cancer research and partners like Qualtrics are the reason Huntsman Cancer Institute is able to continue its important work,² said Jon M. Huntsman, Sr. ³We¹re honored to participate in the Five for the Fight campaign. Those $5 donations will add up and will save many lives.²
