Let’s Define #MBCStrength This Summer

ATTENTION: THOSE LIVING WITH METASTATIC BREAST CANCER

There are many different ideas about what it means to live with metastatic breast cancer (MBC). As we enjoy special moments this summer – weddings, high school graduations, family vacations, and other special moments – AstraZeneca is once again calling on women in the metastatic breast cancer community to celebrate their individual stories and define for themselves what it means to live well with MBC across social media. They are providing this opportunity in two ways:

·         Launching this July, women with MBC will have the opportunity to share their stories on the MyMBCStory Facebook page. While MyMBCStory – a Web site that provides tools and information tailored to women with metastatic breast cancer and their loved ones – currently also features a Stories of Strength page, the newly created Facebook page allows for stories to be shared at a faster pace. Their hope is that by increasing the number of stories shared, they can raise increased awareness and education about metastatic breast cancer and expand the emotional support resources available within the community.

·         The #MBCStrength nationwide photo-sharing campaign encourages women with MBC to share their strength by uploading a photo of themselves doing what they love to do – whether that is hiking in the mountains, visiting a museum or eating a favorite piece of cake. Beginning this July, photos on the MyMBCStory Facebook page or tagged with the campaign hashtag will not only be collected in the new #MBCStrength image gallery, but will also be eligible for display on a Times Square billboard on Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day which takes place on October 13, 2015!

I hope that you will share your stories and photos in this way in order to put a face on Metastatic Breast Cancer for everyone!
