Let Life Happen Now Features “Paid Opportunities for the Cancer Community”

If you happened to visit the Let Life Happen website lately, you may have noted some changes there. As with everything else that has been done on the site, everything has originated from a need to provide some information and/or inspiration for those in the cancer community and their supporters. In addition to the weekly blog that has been written for nearly 12 years, the “In the News” daily feature that was added 6 ½ years ago and the “Clinical Trials” daily feature that was added just one year ago, a need has arisen to start a new feature.

The “Paid Opportunities for the Cancer Community” is that newest feature that not only includes cancer patients but in some instances also provides opportunities for caregivers. The purpose is to share those opportunities of which I become aware with the cancer community where they may receive remuneration for their knowledge and expertise as patients and/or caregivers that provides invaluable input on topics that they have first hand knowledge.

I have been fortunate over the last couple of years to become involved with several organizations that have created such opportunities. WhatNext.com first came to my attention when I met its founder in 2012 at my first patient advisory board meeting and over the years, I have found this site to have invaluable information that I have even shared from my own site. And in addition to all of the other offerings that have evolved from this group, I have received regular notifications of paid opportunities originating from this group that cover a wide range of cancers.

Interestingly, it was at this same patient advisory board meeting that I met the co-creator of SavvyCooperative.com that was created two years ago that is touted as the ‘Match.com of patient insights”. Patients who wish to be part of this group receive weekly updates about new paid gigs in which they can elect to participate and be compensated for their experiences and/or insights.

In addition to these two groups, I have also been given the opportunity in the past to share my own experiences and get paid for them from other sources and I truly appreciate these gigs as I do not have a nonprofit or any other regular business entity from which I can generate income. But, I also recognized that this information about these opportunities needs to reach a much wider audience so with the blessing and support of these various communities, I have created this new feature on my website. I refer to it as my “public service” announcement feature where I share the information as received from outside organizations for posting and sharing on social media.

Therefore, if you are interested in checking out the currently posted items, please go to the Let Life Happen website to view this information. New postings are added and shared on social media as soon as soon as they are received so you may want to check back on a regular basis to see the most current offerings. And if you happen to be a part of an organization who has such paid opportunities available that you would like to have shared here, please contact me with an email at barbara@letlifehappen.com so that we can provide such support opportunities to as many cancer patients as possible.
