The Astellas Oncology C3 Prize seeking innovative ideas to improve cancer care is back

In In The News by Barbara Jacoby

As you may remember from last year, the Astellas Oncology C3 Prize® is a global challenge to inspire and support innovative ideas aimed at changing cancer care for patients and caregivers. After receiving more than 100 entries from 15 countries last year, Astellas Oncology is once again calling for applicants from all backgrounds to share ideas to improve areas such as care coordination, adherence, treatment navigation and survivorship.

Following a live Shark Tank-style pitch at the Union for International Cancer Control World Cancer Leaders’ Summit in Mexico City on November 13th, one grand prize winner will receive a $50,000 grant from Astellas and a personal consultation session from Robert Herjavec, technology entrepreneur, star of ABC’s Emmy Award-winning hit television show Shark Tank and cancer caregiver. Four runners up will each receive $12,500 and all the finalists will receive a one-year nights and weekends membership to MATTER, a Chicago-based healthcare innovation community to help bring their ideas to life.

Astellas’ Mark Reisenauer will return as a judge for this year’s live pitch event, joined by other experts in oncology, business and entrepreneurship, including last year’s grand prize winner, Diane Jooris, CEO and co-founder of Oncomfort™.

Entries are now being accepted online at www.C3Prize.com through August 21, 2017.
